Catch-up Wrap-Up

And finally, to wrap up my catch-up posts, some shots and commentary from around the house and grounds.

This newly cleared out area (thanks to an industrious DH) used to be a solid wall of rhododendron, ivy and blackberry brambles.  Slowly, the bed is being reclaimed and opened up.  The one downside is that until the rhody "trees" recover from the intense pruning they are receiving and drape nicely again, we and the neighbors can literally see eye to eye now...gone is our huge natural privacy fence.  At least for this summer.  Ah well.  It'll look so much better when it is done :)

A rare beautiful spring day in Seattle, at least this year - it has been colder and soggier than usual, but I am determined to celebrate summer regardless if it decides to show up or not!  So the adirondacks and shade umbrella are ready!!

That said, you don't get lovely rainbows without a good dousing, and we've had some pretty awesome rainbows the last few months.  This is from last week.

And the ongoing Mystery of the Quickly Emptying Bird Feeder continues to unravel - yet another non-feathered critter, joining the ranks of squirrels and chipmunks, irritating the tar out of the feathered set by chowing down on their vittles!!  And yes, this is a rat.  **shiver** cute on the front end, but the tail end is a little much.

Notice the proximity of the photos above and below.  This is as close as our cats will ever get to a rodent, being fulltime indoor kitties.  Not that they'd know what to do with one if they DID happen to catch one... In the meantime, they are enjoying some yummy wheat grass grown especially for them by their accommodating staff.  Otherwise known as ... me.

And now I am officially Caught Up!!  Yay :)
