Fun with Bugs. Or avoiding them, I guess, would be more accurate a description of last weekend. We've had a pest control company keeping watch for potential problems, and last week, a wee little termite scout was caught, thus setting in motion the need for Invasion Evasion, Stage 1. Which entailed a lot of digging, relocating some plants, and since I was already working in the beds anyway, weeding. We were pooped by day's end, and quite sore, but the beds looked much improved, minus the one with the big trench in it. DH had to rent a jackhammer to remove part of the patio, but that turned out ok, too, since we're planning to remove/rennovate the patio anyway. Here's the pictorial story...
The day was gorgeous, and these guys looked like they were having WAY more fun than we were :)
And of course, the requisite ferry shot with the Cascades in the background...
We were tuckered out by the end of the weekend, and poor DH really did a number on his back -- he's all wonky when he stands after sitting for a lenthy time now -- and I have the "Spent All Wknd Working in the Yard after a Winter of Inactivy" pains, but it felt good to get all this done. Eden Pest Control came out Tuesday, applied the termite treatment, and refilled the trench for us. Which is good, cuz we're all wonky now and shoveling would be bad...
