Just got the call that DH's Granny Jo, three weeks shy of her 93rd bday, passed away late this morning...her body had been shutting down for the last month, and she quit eating and drinking a week ago...just talked to Aunt Joyce, who's been caring for Granny for years...she's doing pretty good and was with Granny when she passed.
This is so Granny...she didn't want a formal funeral or memorial service, or to be buried with Grandpa -- wants her ashes to be portioned out and given to each family member to bury in their flower gardens! Told Joyce that when our part of Granny arrives, we'll find a lovely peony to put her under, and Joyce thot that was a great idea, as Granny loved peonies!
She was a feisty broad and ornery as all get out, and she'll be missed.
