Last night, our little Pippa kitty, who adopted us 4 years ago and was a wonderful addition to our furry family, appeared to suffer either a stroke or seizure. She recovered somewhat last night and was alert this morning, but as the morning wore on, it became apparent she was on her final hours. She'd lost strength in her back legs, had very little balance, and seemed unfocused and disoriented.

We initially set a vet appt for 4:30 this afternoon, but by 10am, she had gone downhill quite a bit. We arrived at the vet at 11:30, and after a quick exam and consult, Dr. Mike confirmed that she'd probably suffered multiple events that brought her to this point. He could put an IV in and get some fluids, run a bunch of tests, and very likely end up at this same place. We said goodbye to her at noon today.

She was so very special to us, a very patient and brave kitty whom we loved very much. We are still in shock at the sudden loss of this sweet little thing who taught us a lot of lessons about perseverance. It is amazing how something so small can be so powerful.

We are so thankful to have been entrusted with her care and all her special needs, and miss her terribly. Four years flew by far too quickly...
