Next to last "summer" weekend

Ok, so summer actually still has a few more weeks to go.  From where parents and students are standing, though, this next weekend is IT.  And, as it is starting to feel a little more autumny, yeah, my thoughts are continuing along the feathering the nest/gather & store acorns direction.

To that end, we completed our Firewood Stock-Up this weekend.  Got a truckload of seasoned firewood from our former contractor, Darnell.  Then got it home and split it into manageable chunks to feed the woodstove.  Dear La Nina:  Bring.It.On.  We are Ready for you!!

This is the woodbin in the garage.  This and the bin by the side of the house are full.  Yay!

Found the plums I've been searching for at a fruitstand, so whipped up a batch of Spiced Plum Jam. 

 

Second harvest of tomatoes meant another yummy dish of DH's bruschetta. 

Here's the first dig of potatoes - red and yellow fingerlings. 

Which we roasted in olive oil with black pepper and minced rosemary.  More Yumm! 

A summer capture of the white butterflies that flitter around and enjoy the lavendar.
